So, last year Christmas (well actually a few weeks ago), I celebrated my birthday with -20-degree (MINUS 20!) weather at Harbin, China. It was, once in a lifetime experience. Never in my life to think, I will be here, and its snowing, on my birthday.

Stories coming soon. I am quite packed with work these days.

Picture at Volga Manor, Harbin.

December

There will be plenty of things will be happening starting 2017. I cannot wait any longer. 😁
💙

So last night I had this very conversation with H through Skype. He told me how he had to coop up with the rain and wet socks everytime he reached  the workplace..  I don’t know if I wanted to laugh or felt terrible of his current situation. H looks promising and the conversation lead to the current hot topic, Global Warming.

yeah for those who haven’t watch the documentary “Before the Flood”, I encourage you to do so. Unfortunately, youtube has restricted the free view on their youtube site. It is kinda scary though. To see how the world has evolved caused by human actions. We discussed a lot on that particular topic cause we love talking about it compared to the entertainment news.

Besides Global warming, we discussed how buzzfeed food could misleading the cooking skill. I am with the fact that western cuisine are too easy and he told me there is plenty I don’t know yet. Once, I’ve tried Ravioli which turn up into some kind of disaster..  But I’m good in baking. H is not a sweet tooth person, as he preferred  a real food.  He also rejected high cholesterol food such as -Masak lemak etc and yea, I can’t wait to see how he reacts to mom’s food though.

sometimes, it is not easy to evaluate life in a very rational state of mind.

Long distance is torturing,

short distance annoys me,

so what’s left?

I woke up early to have a final clear air in Richmond. It was 630am and I was happily watching the girls getting ready for school. My stomach still fancying the lobster and I was too happy last night. Although my heart is jumping around, I still get the opportunity to be getting ready with my own pace as I have no rush at all.

The girls nanny is ready at the living room to walk the eldest to school. I have this opportunity to chat with my cousin and saying thanks for her hospitality and so on. and free food. and free strawberry. and free milk.

My aunt suggested me to take a walk at the terrace garden at the front of our home in Richmond and I found it very much fascinating.. She also suggested me to buy some chocolates (together with the brand) and cookies and bring it back home. The clock is ticking at 8am, therefore I have to leave at 1030 sharp to the airport. I was wondering if I could walk to the Kew Gardens in 20 mins (1km away) but, thinking that I may wasting much time walking in rush, I decided to just stroll around the garden.

English Garden are not complete without the glass house. The terrace park located close to the Thames Rives as the waterfront provided a lot of interesting animals. Ducks, Squirrels and this bloody squirrels keep chasing me thinking I am nuts (or I smell like a nuts).

Along the waterfront, there is a bench facing the river and all of sudden I feel very bad by missing those evening moments here. I knew that there will be a lo of people in the evening, reminisce memories back in the 80’s. The bench was given by the local people craved with their loved one and all the memory at the Park itself. This is urban design. A very good one.

I am quickly heading out to the Tesco metro because it started to rain again. I bought Thorntons for my mother (£5), Dark Chocolate Kit Kat for myself (£4), and some chocolate for my family (£2). Holloween month is where ypu can get all the cheapest chocolate and candy everywhere.. I was running back to my cousin’s  as the rain is starting to pour heavily. Sorry I can’t tell you how I rush at the Tesco counter with pay yourself machine so that I could get all cents gone . Pay self-counter is the best anyway.

img_20151007_083408.jpg

My aunt gives some advice whether I wanted to use Tube (£5.8), Taxi (£20) or the Bus (£1.20). I quickly choose bus as it was the cheapest however, I mistakenly misplace my Oyster Card. I was at the bus station around 1030am and panicking and quickly go to the Tube station. I have to pay £5.8 to Terminal 4, Heathrow !!! What a waste!!!

img_20151007_104433.jpg

img_20151007_104612.jpg

Anyway. Reaching Heathrow, I met Shah who is quite late and I settle down checking in my bag. Oh yeah, please declare everything watery including the snowglobe. I was carrying 6 snowglobe without declaring it and I was stop at the immigration and they are like, crumble everything in my bag. I was very worried that they throw it away, plus I wear tudung and discrimination so on.. But the man is very nice. He said he just wanted to check and keep asking me what did I brought in. I didn’t recognized that the snowglobe is something you must declare. Howveer, lesson learnt.

So the last few hour in London, I spent another £4 for lunch and the remaining for souvenir at the airport, which wayyyy priceyyy than the street. But I need to get off all the coins I have.

London. I will definitely come back. The plane take off around 2.30pm Local time via Vietnam Airlines. It’s sleeping time. We’re going backwards everybody.

I brought £300 to UK & I still have another £100. BRAVO!!!

where Today To Do List

  1. Windsor (1/2 day)
  2. Chelsea Football Stadium
  3. Convent Garden
  4. Chinatown
  5. Regent Park
  6. London Central Mosque

I should be heading to Windsor this morning but  it expected to rain all day long. With the low will of my power, I cancel the plan. I am so sad. Going to the castle in the rain is not nice as there is no pedestrian path with rooftoop at Windsor. I am very sad as I always wanted to go to Windsor. I definitely know that this is a sign of returning. But come back to reevaluating the plan, as usual, I decided to be back at Oxford streets again just to know that I can not avoid shopping anymore. From Richmond Station, It took 40mins  tube ride to Tottenham Court station. And this time, Shah is very late.

There is two Primark at this area. but if you stop at Tottenham Court station, there is Primark just across the street which you may never miss it. It is at the almost at end of Oxford Streets. I went there and spend another £26 for Harry potter sweat shirt (£10), socks (£2) and jewelry (£4). I can’t track another £10 but I am sure it went somewhere.  Socks is too cheap in here around £2 and I could get 6 pairs.

Even I am quite shocked to spent that MUCH money but whatever. The harry potter sweat shirt is a must buy item. Shah just lost in the sea of people.

Today itinerary changed to the British museum. Again, FOC.  I am glad to be here. We spent nearly 2 hours inside this amazing museum. Shah planned to follow another friend somewhere north and  while waiting for Haq to arrive again, I took the opportunity to take a look at all mummies, and souvenir shop.

#SyiqahTravelTips: just buy anything you want. I got myself this for £3.

Haq arrived around 3.30pm.  Told him I wanted to go to convent garden and suggest to take a walk pass through LSE (H former university), and then to convent garden. My feet is nagging but I must not let myself down.

IMG-20151006-WA0027img_20151006_145549.jpgConvent garden is great. I’ve seen some cool shops and try out Ben’s cookies. I also take it away with £7.25 in a tin of four cookies  Awesome possum. Hiks. Although it started to raining, we quickly heading to Chelsea fc stadium cause the store will be close at 5pm. Lobster can wait!!!! The journey from Convent Garden to Chelsea is around 30 mins. The stadium looks like a school from outside  . I grabbed this opportunity to take a picture and proudly sent it to my brother. The mega store is on sale. I also grabbed some shirts for £10 (sorry cannot help myself). And Haq gets his mafia. It started to rain again.

Before he was forced to belanja me, he tookk me to Harrods to see Lady D and Dodi statue and saying, I need to tell other people that I came here. Ok I WENT TO HARRODS and still find it funny why people fancy this mall.

So at Burger and Lobster, for £20,it was worth it. with some discount, if you pay online in the restaurant. Again we talk endlessly. knowing I may not return anytime soon, I was so sad that this is my last day in London. I made a promise to myself that I will definitely come back.

After a full stomach and hugging each other. We say goodbye. I Need to bear an hour train ride to Richmond.

To sum  my total expenditure today:

Primax £26.
Topup £5
Souvenir £3
Cookies £7.25
Chelsea £10

img_20151005_073014.jpg

I had a very long conversation with my Aunt upon my arrival last night and it drives myself crazy as I woke up around 6.30am (CONSIDER THIS AS VERY LATE!) and noticing that the girls still not wake up for school. I told my Aunt that I would love to walk them to school and see the school by myself. My aunt is happy, I can tell by looking at her face. I change to the normal look, which is EXACTLY not what I’ve planned for #syiqahOOTD but I’ll go whatever with this.

The school located on the upper hill and walking the girls to school is fun as I can see how lovely the mat salleh are. With morning greetings, with smiles and walk the kids right to the front door is just awesome. The teacher is waiting for the students to arrive and greet the parents with a smile. I could see the kids will park their mini ‘motorcycle’ nearby their class and all done is a very systematic way. I love how they trained the kids. I can’t take a picture here, as they considered it as very rude to simply take photos at the kids school.

After walking Dareen to school with my aunt, I straight going to the train station. Time close to 9.40pm. Shah is waiting and  would scream if I’m late, again. and OH NO it started to rain. grrrrr.. Hold on rain! I reached the station 30 mins later.

Thing about the underground tube is, as a first timer, obviously I’ve got so confuse on where should I stand.. Richmond Station both serving the tube and the Train. I was almost got into the train ride, however I was saved by this customer service girl asking me to run to the tube line. Of course considering my Panic attack, plus Shah is waiting (He is scarier when he got mad!). We planned to meet up at South Kensington.

For today itinerary is.

  1. National History Museum
  2. Victoria Albert Museum
  3. Science Museum
  4. Imperial College
  5. Tinseltown
  6. Portobello Road
  7. Regent Park
  8. London Central Mosque
  9. Regent Zoo
  10. Oxford Street
  11. Convent Garden

Ok  now #LondonTubeTips .

  1. Get yourself a tube map or just download the apps.
  2. The price consists according to the Zone. There is Zone 1-6. London city is in the Zone 1. Richmond is Zone 4.

National History Museum, Victoria Albert Museum, Science Museum & Imperial College (4 hours in total)

Since it was a very cold and chilly Monday, I decided to VISIT all free museums. Hehehe.

Although the plan is to meet up at South Kensington, we ended up meeting at Nothing Hill. Which I can’t remember why. The reason why we should meet at South Kensington is because it was the nearest station between all the museums. Our first stop is National History museum, followed by Victoria Albert Museum and sneak peak at Imperial college, and Science Museum. I spent nearly 2 hours in this area.  I love the fact that all of then are located near to each other. By our third museum visit, It was raining and we running here and there and the rain has no mercy. My socks are wet, and umbrella isn’t working. But time is very limited (It was already 3pm!) to think all the constraint now. The concept is redah. and the feeling of running in the rain with this fella is something I will never forget.

At the same time, Imperial college is having an open day. Some guys were approaching us to take the picture. They ask us what course are we in, and I bet by looking at how I dress, it was very impossible to say I will be enrolled at the imperial college. It was very nice of them though to say that. Told them that they must be very smart to get a place here. They were giggling and smilling. We depart by saying good luck and all the best and make your country proud.

Tinseltown + Bayswater

We heading to the Bayswater area and pass through the Hyde park, and Royal Albert hall for pictures. I should be running here with Ted this morning  but it was raining and we need to cancel our plan. The 6Km park amazed me even we’re just crossing it cutting to the oxford street.

20151005_131136

img_20151005_131137.jpg20151005_13323620151005_134715

It was raining and I was hungry. I stopped by Tinseltown for some milk shake  as recommended by Mike and we heading to the Bayswater for the souvenir. I spent £6 for the milk shake and £15 for souvenirs.

#SyiqahTravelTips: souvenirs at Bayswater are a lot cheaper than any other part of London. Make sure to come here for souvenirs. Be nice and you might get a lot of free stuff from the shop owner 🙂 I’ve got myself free pen!

img_20151011_191703_678.jpg

But since I am on the budget so I just take a stroll around. We tried the fish and chips at this Halal Restaurant located near the Bayswater underground station and well, quite disappointing.

But we were hungry and that is a lot cheaper than any other. £7 per plate. I was meeting my best friend, Haq later and ask him for some extra sock and mind is just too wet.

Diary of a shopaholic

Haq finally arrived from Guildford. I am so happy. He was late but never mind. he take us to Primark for shopping and I am avoiding myself here. Lots of cool stuff and cheap stuff here but ok fine. We went for a coffee nearby called Pret A manger for some coffee. I had my usual Croissant and Latte and then we shared stories.

img_20160827_095136_188.jpg

img_20151005_174415.jpg

After an hour, I decided to check them up at Primark and decided to look forward sports direct for another shopping and I couldn’t get away from shopping anymore. I bought one pair of shoes for £3 and shirts for my parents (A pair for £11). It was cheap cheap.

We are also heading to the Nike town and I see all the cool Nike stuff here. But I am Skechers girl. Don’t bother much on this. But knowing Fakhitah loves Nike, I took a picture showing her and hoping she would be extra jealous.

img_20151005_191810.jpg

Based on my plan, I failed to attempt 6, 7, 8, 9 & 11 of the itinerary. It rains non-stop though. Now I get it why people are wearing black and grey in here. because it was raining all day. I wanted to go home because it is quite late. Haq walked me home although it took him another hour to Guildford (Plus, Pierre Herme Macaron). Takes mate. I am very very happy!
